My Take

Patapon: I normally can’t stand rhythm games, but this one is a ton of fun.
iPhone SDK: Finally! Looks great to me, but I am not happy about the ‘no background apps’ policy. I’d like 3rd party chat apps and feed readers to be able to alert me from the background. Hopefully, background [...]

New Rolly Video

Diginfo has a new video of the Sony Rolly (due later this month). I’m still shocked that noone has built a homebrew version of the Rolly, yet, with Lego Mindstorms.

Sony Rolly Announced

$350 US, available only in Japan (9/29/07).
Engadget’s notes here. Videos here. Original post and commercial here. Update: Akihabara News has a hands on video.
1GB of audio storage and can stream from bluetooth devices which support A2DP. Clever UI - hold the Rolly vertically, twist the top wheel to change the song. [...]

Sony Rolly

The wait has just begun. We saw the first (viral) video of it last week.
The wait is almost over. Word has it that there is a Rolly release party in Japan on the 10th.
So what is it? A Wii for music? The new (tiny) Aibo platform? I’ll try to remain [...]

Sony Rolly

Updated: New, full length commercial. Switched the embedded video.
Thanks, everyone, for pointing me to the Rolly. Yes, you are right. It will be impossible for me to resist purchasing a Rolly. Let’s hope it’s hackable!

LittleBigPlanet - new videos

Great new LittleBigPlanet video: GameSpot interview/demo.
I’d embed it, but you really owe it to yourself to go watch the HD version.

LittleBigPlanet at E3 2007

Matt pointed me to this excellent new LittleBigPlanet video. As you can tell from past posts on this blog: I can’t wait for this game! Thanks Matt!

LittleBigPlanet Details

The Wikipedia article has great info about LittleBigPlanet (one of the most anticipated PS3 titles), but it doesn’t contain some of the gems you’ll find in the Edge magazine article or issue 71 of developmag.
Here are some quotes from Edge I found interesting:
In Edge, director Alex Evans says “… you might have to [...]

Almost 1 Month with my PS3

I bought a PS3 after seeing the GDC presentations about Home and LittleBigPlanet. At that point I decided it was only a matter of time.
Cross Media Bar (XMB): I don’t own a PSP, so the PS3 was my first interaction with the XMB. It’s really a great interface construct and I can see [...]

LittleBigPlanet: I guess I always knew I’d EVENTUALLY need to buy a PS3.

Update: The top video is the complete, uncut demo with commentary:

Google Reader for the Sony Mylo?

Is there any interest out there for a version of ReaderMini.com that will work on the Sony Mylo? If so, let me know and I’ll start to investigate. I’m thinking a slideable feed list and lots of hotkey support.
I don’t have a Mylo, but it shouldn’t be too hard to get something working.
Here [...]

Opera config files - comparing the 770 and the Mylo

NOTES:

I changed the user agent spoof - it was originally set to 3 - meaning Opera on the 770 by default pretends to be IE 6.
I’ve been using Opera for several days now and the settings may be quite different from the original opera.ini file. Other than the user agent, though, I haven’t directly [...]

Way to BEHAVE, Sony!!!

Sony announced that all proceeds from their new game, an online version of the Pirates Constructible Strategy Game, will go to Childs Play, the incredibly awesome (3 years running) charity organized by Penny-Arcade!
Honestly, a move like that makes me completely disregard the alliwantforxmas indiscretion. Way to GO!
