At Homestead, we’ve been working with Intuit for years in various capacities. We share a lot of the same values and there is a lot of overlap between our customers. Both of us count small businesses as critical to our success and we’d like to think that those businesses can find success using [...]
Justin is a keynote speaker at the Small Business Summit in New York City and he wants to bring along the first 10 people that email him. Sounds like a great time!
Also, I’ll pay the entry fee ($149) for the first ten of you who email me describing your business and why you’d like [...]
Last week Elizabeth (my hero) on the admin team here at Homestead put a Starbucks machine in our kitchen. It grinds, brews and pours each cup on demand. Great, great stuff! It also brews hot cocoa that tastes pretty good! Tenshi, an anonymous Homestead blogger shares her opinion of the coffee and cocoa on her [...]
Our 8th Annual Talent Show was last month. Thai, our CTO, hosts the show almost every year and Justin, our CEO, peforms every year. Along with the retreats and anniversary parties, the show is part of our culture and an opportunity to learn about and laugh with our coworkers. It’s awesome! Roger uploaded the acts [...]
Justin (our CEO at Homestead) is doing a great job with his blog. I wonder if he read Robert’s and Shel’s book, yet…
The title (CEOUnplugged) is excellent (he’s the CEO of Homestead and he loves to play unplugged music).
The articles are great (he’s been writing about our customers and about the all the wonderful [...]
As Thai alluded to on his blog, we release changes to the Homestead.com site and the SiteBuilder/SiteBuilder Lite software at an extremely fast rate: our ’small change’ cycle is every 2 weeks and our ‘big change’ cycle is every 4-6 weeks. Our release rate is not nearly as rapid as myspace, I guess, but it’s [...]
Ajaxian and Valleywag are talking about the “Google is building a browser-based web page editor” rumor. We (Homestead) delivered a browser-based (Ajax) web site design tool last year at Demo 05. We call it SiteBuilder Lite. SBL is compatible with our primary editing tool, SiteBuilder, and is usually a user’s first stop for customizing their [...]
I’ve been with Homestead Technologies for 9 years and I love it for a lot of reasons. This is recruiting season, so I find myself talking about those reasons a lot to interested candidates. While I’m at it, I thought I’d document them here, too. My five part series starts with Five Cool Recurring [...]
Thai Bui, my friend and the co-founder and CTO of Homestead Technologies started blogging again today. Have fun, Thai!
The best part of working at Homestead is the people. The people we work for(our customers) and the people we work with(our partners and fellow employees). Thai is one of my favorite people to [...]
Justin sent this message to our customers today. I hope everyone affected by the disasters will have a safe(and HAPPY) holiday season.
Dear John,I’m writing to share some exciting news with you regarding Homestead’s Katrina Relief fundraising efforts. Together with the rest of the Homestead community and the Homestead Foundation, your kindness and generosity has helped [...]
Homestead QuickSites is live today. Big day around here!!
We’ve been working on a new product at Homestead and we recently announced it at DEMO 2005. It’s going to help a lot of small businesses get a site off the ground fast. After that, they can use SiteBuilderLPX(which is also very easy to use) to make more sweeping changes if they need [...]
At Demo last week, we showed PhotoSite Mobile. Soon, publishing images to PhotoSites will be as easy as sending them in email. Also, you can now browse PhotoSites on small devices, like color-screen cell phones.
