FlipStart/Longhorn-Style Auxiliary Displays?

Make has a howto for adding an auxiliary display to a laptop with SideWindow, Konfabulator and a PocketPC.

Intrigued, I played around with doing something similar using my Palm Tungsten|C, SoftickPPP, PalmVNC and Konfabulator.

I don’t like it.
